I admire most of the Bell & Ross designs because they have a clean contemporary elegant design with easy to read dials. This characteristics also apply to this limited edition Bell & Ross BR-05 Skeleton Gold. A timepiece that is a treat for watch collectors who love and appreciate the mechanical components of an automatic movement.
Although this Br 05 has a skeletonized dial, you can easily read time during the day or night thanks to its large 18k rose gold applied indices and 18k rose gold skeletonized hands treated with Super Luminova.
The BR 05 comes from the Instrument collection that consist of timepieces which designs have a strong influence in vintage aircraft cockpit instruments.
The stunning case is fully crafted in 18K rose gold with sapphire crystal over the dial and on the caseback. The case measuring 40mm in diameter by 10.9mm in thickness and it has an overall length of 47.6mm in length when measure from lug to lug.
This geometric case has a beautiful combination of satin finish with polish beveled edges and features removable crown guards that are hold by screws. This guards protect the 18k rose gold screw-down crown.
This case is available with gold bracelet or black rubber strap like the example shown here. The integrated rubber strap is very comfortable on my wrist and comes paired with an 18K rose gold deployment buckle with twin trigger.
The dial has consist of rose gold brides that allows you to see and appreciate the mechanical craftsmanship. You can see the barrel, the clutch system, the escapement, the balance and many other components that makes up this movement tick.
Under the hood, Bell & Ross is using caliber BR 322. This automatic movement is based on Sellita SW 300 which works at 4 hertz using 25 jewels and with a power reserve of 38 hours. The caliber also features a 360 degree rose gold rotor with the limited edition number of the timepiece, hacking seconds and 100 meters of water resistant.
