Breguet’s Reine de Naples collection is inspired by the early watches that Abraham-Louis Breguet created for Bonaparte’s sister, Caroline, Queen of Naples. This watch with a unique egg-shaped case has become one of Breguet’s best sellers and a symbol of female sophistication.
In 2019, Breguet introduced the new Reine de Naples 8918 models (reference 8918BB/5P/964D00D). This model, complemented by a charming red color, comes in a case measuring 36.5 × 28.45 mm, made of white gold. 117 white diamonds with a total weight of about 0.99 carats are fixed on the bezel and flange of the dial. The crown is decorated with a ruby cabochon weighing 0.27 carats.
Arabic numerals are drawn on the dial of a Breguet watch in garnet color against a white mother of pearl background. The center of the white gold dial is decorated with a guilloche pattern in the style of Clou de Paris. Thin blued hands of Breguet show minutes and hours. Pear-shaped diamond is placed at 6 o’clock.
The sapphire crystal case back offers a view of the automatic movement, Caliber 537/3, which has a balance frequency of 3.5 Hz and has a power reserve of 45 hours. Water resistant up to 30 meters. The watch comes on a red alligator strap with a gold clasp encrusted with 26 white diamonds weighing about 0.12 carats.
