This Spirit of Big Bang is a sport timepiece with an exquisite design, high tech materials and impressive movement.
I like that the timepiece is not too big or have an outrages design. Instead, this Spirit of Bing Bang has a more subtle design and is mainly because of the material and colors that were used.
The case measures 42mm in width and about 14.3mm in thickness which is definitely a better size than the previous 45mm version and thanks to the slight curvature of the case and lugs, the timepiece also feels comfortable.
The case is crafted in titanium while the blue bezel is crafted in high tech ceramic with a combination of polished and micro blasted finish. The large crown has an industrial look and it includes the “H” logo on the center.
The biggest improvement of this Big Bang over the previous design is the quick release system for the straps. This timepiece has pushers on the lugs that allow you to switch straps in seconds.
The integrated blue with black lined rubber strap feels smooth and flexible and it comes paired with a titanium deployment buckle with twin trigger.
Under the sapphire crystal is a multi layer skeletonized dial which surprisingly is very easy to read.
Over the movement is secondary sapphire crystal that serves as a mounting surface for the sub-dials and the Hublot logo. The dial has a 30 minute counter at the 3 O’clock position, 12 hour counter at 6 O’clock position, running seconds at 9 O’clock and a date window between the 4 and 5 o’clock position for the skeletonized date wheel.
The most impressive part of this Hublot is under the hood!
This Spirit of Big Bang uses caliber 4700 which is actually a skeletonized El Primero 400 movement! This accurate chronograph movement was first released in 1969 and it was the worlds first high frequency automatic chronograph movement.
The caliber beats at 5 hertz using 31 jewels with a power reserve of 50 hours and 100 meters water resistant.
