The IWC Portugieser collection has an excellent reputation. Sporty style, excellent materials and layout ensure the watch’s main purpose — precision and legibility. The catalog of the series has been replenished with two universal editions Yacht Club Chronograph Edition Orlebar Brown and Chronograph.
Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph Edition Orlebar Brown
IWC and Orlebar Brown showcased their collaboration with the IWC Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph Edition Orlebar Brown. The novelty belongs to the special editions of the Portugieser collection — in collaboration with Orlebar Brown, tradition is perfectly combined with personalized details.
The watch in a large stainless steel case with a diameter of 44.6 mm looks harmonious and fits perfectly on wrists of different sizes. The surfaces are mirror-polished and the integration of the strap is done without voids. The crown is surrounded by a raised polished guard, the pushers have a comfortable shape. One of the striking details of the novelty is a blue rubber strap with a textile insert. The buckle bears the IWC-Orlebar Brown collaboration mark engraved on the metal.
The blue dial is dedicated to the sea and sailing. The vertical arrangement at position 12 provides the chronograph counters at 60 minutes and 12 o’clock. In the lower part there are two more registers: a minute counter in a circular aperture with white and red accents, as well as a central hour counter. Elements are well demarcated and easy to read. The chronograph seconds are indicated by a central red hand.
The time indicator uses central elongated hands of hours and minutes with a skeletonized center and a luminous fill. The blue indexes use applied metal Arabic numerals with the Portugieser font and short indexes. The minute white track looks like a railroad. Subdials are slightly recessed and decorated with a circular grain pattern. The date is framed in black on a white background and can be seen through an aperture on the small seconds dial. Caliber 89361 is used for the Ingenieur, Da Vinci, Aquatimer, Pilots and Portugieser chronographs. The movement is designed to resist wear and tear.
IWC Portugieser Chronograph IW371617
For the first time, this elegant and sporty chronograph is presented on a high-quality stainless steel bracelet with a folding butterfly clasp. The chronograph IW371617 is ideal for any wrist. But the highlight of this product is the bracelet. It is beautifully detailed and meticulously crafted with polished and satin-finished surfaces. The folding butterfly clasp provides the watch with an ergonomic fit and excellent wearing comfort.
The slender blue hour and minute hands and similar appliqués contrast beautifully with the silvery-white dial. The screen has two recessed apertures at positions 12 and 6 in silvery white, but with a different finish. The two chronograph buttons at positions 2 and 4 on the right side of the case make it easy to use the chronograph functions. Powered by IWC caliber 69355 with 46-hour autonomy. The sturdy and precise chronograph movement of the classic column-wheel design is visible through the sapphire case back.
