The Duometre Quantime Lunaire is a mechanical masterpiece. It’s one of the most accurate timepiece from the watchmaker.
The timepiece has a semi open dial design that showcases the power reserve indicators of the 2 drive trains of this piece. The Duometre uses 2 independent drive trains to ensure that the mechanism that tells time is not affected by the complications. Jaeger-LeCoultre calls this setup the “Dual Wing Concept”.
The dial has a silvered finish and is composed of 3 Sub-dials. The one on the right is for the hour and minutes, on the left is a date display surrounding the age of the moon indicator and moonphase aperture. The third, at the 6 O’clock position is a sub-dial for the jumping seconds hand which moves in sixth of a second increments.
Surrounding the impressive movement is an 18k rose gold case that measures 42mm in diameter by 14mm in thickness and 50.4mm from lug to lug. The case comes paired with a brown alligator leather strap with an 18k rose gold pin buckle.
On the right side of the case, there’s a push down crown that is use to adjust the time and wind the movement (clockwise for one barrel and counterclockwise for the other). The pusher by 10 O’clock is use to adjust the date indicator. While the pusher between the lugs, by the 11 o’clock, is for adjusting the moon-phase.
Under the hood is Jaeger’s manual movement, caliber 381. This very accurate movement works at 3 hertz using 42 jewels and delivers accurate time for up to 50 hours.
