The Tag Heuer Carrera 42 mm Heuer 02 is available with alligator leather strap and metal bracelet and various dial colors.
To me the grey dial (ref: CBN2012.FC6483) is the best looking option from the bunch. It definitely looks more elegant, specially with the combination of the brown alligator leather strap which looks and feels like a very high quality strap.
The iconic Carrera collection is very popular among watch collectors because of its motor racing heritage that dates back to 1963 when Jack Heuer created the first Carrera Tag Heuer timepiece as a tribute to the Panamericana auto race.
Today, these timepieces continues the history with a more refine In-house movement, caliber Heuer 02. This is a COSC certified caliber with an impressive 80 hours of power reserve.
The stainless steel case measures 42mm in diameter by 14.5mm in thickness and about 48.3mm from lug to lug. Under the beveled sapphire crystal is a beautiful Sunray-brushed grey dial with applied Tag Heuer badge right below the 12 o’clock. The dial also features applied hour indices and polished hands treated superluminova for easy time reading at night.
The dial has a 30 minute counter at 3 o’clock and 12 hour counter at 9 o’clock for the chronograph complication. At 6 o’clock, there’s a running seconds with the date window right below. I really like what Heuer did in this area. keeping it simple instead of adding a matching Sub-dial. It makes the dial look so much cleaner and elegant.
Under the hood, Tag Heuer is using there In-house caliber Heuer 02. This automatic movement has an accuracy rating of -3/+5 seconds per day and works at 4 hertz using 33 jewels. The caliber has a chronograph with column wheel, quick set for the date complication, hacking seconds for precise adjustment and 100 meters of water resistance.
