This is the famous Vacheron Constantin Historique Triple Calendar, reference number 47050/000P.
This dressed watch was first released in 1992 and the design includes a double step bezel and beautiful small tear drop lug design which were fabricated separate from the case, just like vintage timepieces. Then the lugs are welded and finish by hand to create very clean sharp edges.
The timepiece has been crafted with Platinum and the case measures 36mm in diameter. Although in today’s market this could be consider a mid size timepiece or small to some people, back in the days, a 36mm used to be consider a large size timepiece. The thickness of the timepiece is also good at 10.5mm thick while packing an automatic movement with complete calendar and moon-phase.
Under the sapphire crystal is a very exquisite dial with a Guilloche pattern on the center. The dial features a moon-phase indicator at 6 o’clock, two apertures at 12 for the Day of the week and month and finally date indicator around the dial flange.
Under the hood, the timepiece is using caliber 1126/1 based on JLC 889. This automatic movement is adjusted in 5 positions and works at 4 hertz using 36 jewels. The caliber has bi-directional winding, triple calendar and 38 hours of power reserve. Unlike the JLC Master control Calendar, this Vacheron is not displaying the running seconds over the moon-phase.
