The IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Boutique Edition Rodeo Drive was launched in 2015 to celebrate the opening of IWC’s Boutique at the famous Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Besides the iconic case and dial design, this Big Pilot has a case crafted from black ceramic. This material is highly resistant to scratches, which means that this timepiece will look just like brand new for many years to come. The only parts that are not made of this high tech ceramic is the solid case-back and the large crown which are made of Titanium.
The other special feature of this limited edition IWC is the strap. At a glance, you would think the strap is made out of fabric or rubber but is actually a calfskin leather strap with an embossed texture. The strap comes paired with a Titanium depolyant buckle. A very welcome feature for a timepiece of this size.
The case measures 46 mm in Dia and is sure to get a lot of attention because of the high polished finish of the black ceramic and the beautiful blue sunburst dial.
This Big Pilot has a date window at 6 and a power reserve indicator at 3 O’clock for the impressive 7 days of power reserve.
Under the hood, this Big Pilot’s watch is using caliber 5111. This automatic movement works at 3 hertz using 42 jewels and water resistance is rated at 60 meters which is not bad.
The Rodeo Drive edition is a limited edition timepiece and only 250 pcs were produced in 2015.
